Africa, made interactive.

Widgets we build for Met Road, free for anyone to use. Every one is grounded in verified figures, works on a phone, and can be dropped into any site with one line of HTML. No sign-up, no tracking, no cost — just credit us with the link that comes baked in.

The True Size of Africa

The flat map lies about Africa. This one doesn't. Add the world's largest countries, then drag, flip and rotate them to fit inside the continent — every shape drawn at its real area, and resized correctly for its latitude as you move it. All five together come to 28.0 million km²: 92% of Africa. They fit, with room to spare.

Best on a phone: drag a country with one finger, tap it to flip, twist with two fingers to rotate.

Put it on your site

Copy this into any page — a blog post, a lesson plan, a news article. It's responsive, self-contained and free forever.

<iframe src="https://metro.ad/widgets/true-size-of-africa.html" width="100%" height="820" style="border:0;border-radius:18px" title="The True Size of Africa — Met Road" loading="lazy"></iframe>

Teachers, journalists and bloggers are welcome to use these freely. If it's useful, a link back to metro.ad is all we ask.

Mini widgets

Four tiny ones, each built to the standard 300×250 ad slot so they drop straight into a sidebar or mid-article space. No script tags, no tracking, no cost — one line of HTML and you’re done.

Africa Population Clock

Africa’s population, counting up live — and how many people have arrived since you opened the page.

<iframe src="https://metro.ad/widgets/continent-clock.html" width="300" height="250" style="border:0" title="Africa Population Clock — Met Road" loading="lazy"></iframe>

Africa Fact Ticker

Eight things the map never told you, rotating every few seconds.

<iframe src="https://metro.ad/widgets/africa-facts.html" width="300" height="250" style="border:0" title="Africa Fact Ticker — Met Road" loading="lazy"></iframe>

The Growth Frontier

22 of the world’s 28 fastest-growing cities are African. Tap to switch to economies.

<iframe src="https://metro.ad/widgets/growth-dots.html" width="300" height="250" style="border:0" title="The Growth Frontier — Met Road" loading="lazy"></iframe>

True Size (mini)

The flagship in miniature — the USA, China, India and Europe, each dropped inside Africa.

<iframe src="https://metro.ad/widgets/true-size-mini.html" width="300" height="250" style="border:0" title="True Size (mini) — Met Road" loading="lazy"></iframe>

All four are free to use anywhere. Each carries a small metro.ad link — that’s the only thing we ask in return.
