Ticket
Paper token or rechargeable smart card (~EGP 65–80). Card machines on Lines 1 & 2.
Hours
Daily ~05:00–01:00 (to ~02:00 in Ramadan). Trains every 3–6 min at peak.
Good to know
Middle cars are reserved for women. Students, seniors & disabled riders get discounts.

National Authority for Tunnels. 3 lines, 84 stations, ~107 km.

Card
One Cowry Card (₦500–700) covers Blue, Red, BRT buses & ferries. Under-5s ride free.
Off-peak
25% discount between 10:00 and 16:00 daily.

Blue: Mon–Sat ~05:30–23:00. Red: Mon–Fri ~06:00–21:00.
Operator
LAMATA. Fares are distance-based, so the exact amount is deducted on tap.

Gautrain Card or contactless bank card (min balance R32). Weekly/monthly products save more.

Fares frozen — no increase this year. Off-peak is cheaper than peak.

Sandton→OR Tambo 15 min; Pretoria→Joburg Park 35 min. Tag-in / tag-out.

Weekdays 06:45–08:00 & 16:15–17:30; Saver fares apply at all other times.
Transfers
Change routes within 45 minutes and pay a single fare.

MyCiTi · City of Cape Town. Kids under 4 (under 1 m) free.

Mwendokasi smart card or the Mwendokasi app. Top up with M-Pesa, Airtel Money or Tigo-Pesa.

~04:30 to midnight — 19–20 hours a day. Express and all-stops patterns.

Note
The SGR Madaraka Express to Mombasa leaves the separate Nairobi Terminus (Syokimau).
